Membership
Becoming a member - so what’s the point?
At the start of each academic year you need to start or renew your ISoc membership. But what’s the point? Some people say that you don’t need to join ISoc at all, but it is important that you do so that the ISoc can truly say that it represents Muslims on campus. If you think that there are certain things you don’t agree with or areas that need attention or improvement, then don’t just keep it to yourself; get involved and try to actively have an influence. Some of the other advantages of being a member include:
- Be the first to know about our events and activities via our regular emails. Certain dinners and events have a maximum number of attendees, so it pays to know first.
- Importantly, you will be able to vote in or stand for the annual committee elections.
- Meet new Muslims friends from many different backgrounds - you can never have too many!
Where can I join?
You can join the Islamic Society at the Student Involvement and Development Centre (SIDC) on the Ground Floor of the Student's Union on the Preston Campus. They are open 10AM - 2.30PM, Monday to Friday.
Please take your UCLan corporate/library card to join a club. The cost of joining the society is £3.
Mailing list
If you really don’t want to be a member of the ISoc, then we still want you to attend and take part in our activities and events. So you have the option of just adding your name to the mailing list to find out all the latest news from your ISoc or alternatively email, info@uclanisoc.com with Subject: 'Subscribe to Mailing List'
